Kollegio may refer to non-public non-tertiary colleges, such as the Athens College. The word college continues to be used in the names public separate secondary faculties in Ontario. A variety of impartial colleges across Canada also use the word college in its name. Most technical and further education establishments , which offer certificate and diploma vocational courses, are styled “TAFE colleges” or “Colleges of TAFE”. As well as an educational establishment, the term also can refer, following its etymology, to any formal group of colleagues set up under statute or regulation; usually underneath a Royal Charter. Examples are an electoral college, the College of Arms, a school of canons, and the College of Cardinals.
